LED lighting is one of the fastest growing forms of lighting at present. So, why is this? One of the main reasons LED's are becoming so popular is because of the running costs. They are so cheap to run!

The energy used by LED lights is so incredibly low that the cost of running them is much less than standard lights. LED's are also cool to the touch, so they do not waste energy producing heat when all you really want is light. LED bulbs lasts so much longer than standard light bulbs. They can last for years and years and for this reason many of LED lights don't have replaceable bulbs. LED bulbs are reported to last longer than the life of most fittings and for this reason many of the bulbs are incorporated into the light fittings themselves. LED light fittings don't need the bulbs changing or replacing, so no need to get the ladder out.

The colour of light produced by LED's is a clean bluish colour which lends itself to the sleek, modern light fittings of today. Some LED's have a low output and are used maily for decorative effects. Recent developments, however, have seen LED's increasing in light output making them more suitable as a main light source.
